Im only interested in a couple of applications. Why should I attend other sessions?
One of the great virtues of AppleScript is a consistent implementation in multiple applications. As we explore many programs in depth, you will learn more about techniques that are helpful with AppleScript in general. Ive never worked with AppleScript or any type of programming. Will your introductory day really be enough to get me started? A lot can be covered in a day. Just listen to a quote of one of the attendees of Rays half-day seminars. Im amazed by how many AppleScript fundamentals Ray Robertson is able to convey in a short time. With just a few exercises, he exposes beginners to both powerful techniques and how to overcome the initial roadblocks that most new users confront. And Ray will be the first to tell you that Shane Stanleys experience as an AppleScript instructor in Australia adds much more to the class. Even the most experienced of scripters report learning new functionalities and strategies the first day. Can I bring my laptop? Sure. While this is not a hands-on course, we encourage everyone to bring a laptop and follow along with the class as they want. Laptops will also help with examining the course CD immediately, and working on solutions inspired during the sessions. Will you be able to answer all of my questions about my scripting needs? Shane and Ray are both full-time developers, not full-time trainers. As such, they are able to answer most questions, and in many cases suggest a faster route to workflow solutions. If they cant answer a question, other scripters and automation experts in attendance may help. Thats just one of the great virtues of having experienced scripters (and Mac users) gathered together. | |
